Overview

The Athletic Trainer I position focuses on recognizing, managing, and rehabilitating injuries for athletes, while also providing preventative techniques and managing daily operations within a school district's athletic medicine program.

In Short

  • Recognizes and manages injuries to athletes.
  • Provides injury prevention techniques.
  • Works under the direction of senior staff and team physicians.
  • Acts as a point of contact for communication between various stakeholders.
  • Develops exercise and rehabilitation programs.
  • Maintains medical files on athletes.
  • Coordinates return-to-play protocols for concussed athletes.
  • Cleans and maintains the facility.
  • Assists with data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 0-1 years of experience required.
  • Current state licensure as a certified Athletic Trainer or eligible.
  • NATA certification or Temporary license.
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Act 34, 33, and 73 clearances required.
  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience.
  • Experience with concussion testing software.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Current state driver’s license.
