Development Writer - Remote

Overview

The Development Writer will create, develop and enhance an integrated mix of donor and partner-centered communication tools from copy to design, to support major gifts and corporate partnerships and other development activities.

In Short

• Align the organization’s priorities to the partner or donor.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to develop proposals and decks.
• Integrate Heart & Stroke’s mission priorities into communications.
• Ensure timely completion of writing assignments.
• Create compelling communication that engages donors and partners.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline processes.
• Deliver meaningful gift acknowledgment correspondence.
• Create impactful Stewardship and Impact Reports.
• Support cultivation and stewardship events.
• Coordinate diverse print and electronic communications.

Requirements

• 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising or communications.
• Experience with graphic design.
• Proficient in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat).
• SharePoint experience is an asset.
• Undergraduate degree.
• Superior writing and editing skills.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship-building skills.
• Strong understanding of fundraising processes.
• Project management experience.
• Bilingual (French writing) is an asset.
