Overview

The AWS Subject Matter Expert (SME) Contractor focuses on writing and maintaining the OpenTofu Infrastructure as Code (IaC) library, specializing in Kubernetes and Networking. This flexible part-time role allows for independent work with a 1-3 day SLA for ticket assignments.

In Short

• Write and maintain OpenTofu IaC code library.
• Expertise in AWS services, particularly networking, databases, and security.
• Familiarity with testing OpenTofu code using tools like Terratest.
• Organized and comfortable working independently.
• Act as a tech lead, managing projects and tracking work.
• Participate in customer support within your expertise area.
• Contribute to open source projects.
• Deep expertise in writing Terraform/OpenTofu modules.
• Strong background in software engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Flexible working hours averaging ~15 hours/week.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in writing Terraform/OpenTofu modules.
• Experience testing infrastructure as code.
• Strong background in software engineering (5+ years).
• Expertise with Kubernetes and EKS.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to respond to support requests within a 1-2 business day SLA.
• Interest in automating problems.
• Golang and Bash skills are a plus.
