Overview

The Manager, Data & Intelligence is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing both the Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Engineering teams. Reporting to the Director, Data & Intelligence, this role serves as a critical force multiplier, driving BI modernization, supporting data engineering workstreams tied to AI initiatives, and providing day-to-day people management across a mid-sized team of 6 to 10 analysts and engineers.

  • Lead the migration from legacy BI tools to a Databricks Apps-centered platform.
  • Champion AI-assisted development practices within the BI team.
  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of data analysts and data engineers.
  • Oversee data engineering workstreams ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the Data & Intelligence team.
  • Contribute to data governance policies and standards.
  • Communicate complex data insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture.
  • Identify skill gaps and drive professional development plans.
  • Support AI initiatives through data engineering coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics.
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Strong marketing domain knowledge.
  • Hands-on experience with modern BI platforms (Databricks, Tableau, Power BI).
  • Solid understanding of data engineering concepts.
  • Proven track record of managing complex analytics projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Consulting background preferred.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
