Data Governance Manager - Finance - Remote

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled data governance subject matter expert with a strong background in finance to join our enterprise data governance team at Gap Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for prioritization of the business value use cases and enablement of data driven insights/decisions.

In Short

• Articulate and apply principles of overall data strategy to business problems.
• Drive workshops with business to understand use cases and implement solutions.
• Lead implementation of data governance policies within finance.
• Oversee data governance forums for desired outcomes.
• Build financial business metrics library with attribute enrichment.
• Identify data sources and monitor controls.
• Define business functional data quality rules for financial metrics.
• Support finance transformation in data-centric initiatives.
• Optimize financial hierarchy and lead enrichment initiatives.
• Communicate data changes effectively to other teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is a plus.
• 5-7 years of experience in data stewardship or analytics, preferably in retail.
• Strong understanding of financial data by sub-domains.
• Hands-on experience in data quality management and governance tools.
• Knowledge of management reporting tools like Essbase and Anaplan.
• Familiarity with Oracle ERP modules.
• Leadership presence to present to C-Suite.
• Ability to analyze data and make strong recommendations.
