Senior Web API Engineer - Remote

Overview

GoodLeap is a technology company delivering best-in-class financing and software products for sustainable solutions. We’re looking for a Senior Web API Engineer to lead the development of externally facing RESTful integration APIs that connect our platform to a broad network of partners and third-party developers.

In Short

• Design and build secure, reliable, and scalable RESTful APIs for external integration.
• Lead API-first development using OpenAPI (Swagger).
• Architect service boundaries and implementation patterns optimized for external consumption.
• Deliver robust authentication and versioning for APIs.
• Collaborate with product and technical stakeholders on API strategy.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript in a production environment.
• Deep understanding of RESTful API design.
• Experience building externally consumable APIs.
• Strong foundation in OAuth2 and token-based authentication.
• Preferred: Proficiency with OpenAPI specifications.
• Experience with Kong API Gateway.
• Deployment experience in AWS, particularly with Amazon ECS.
• Familiarity with performance optimization and caching strategies.
• Passion for clean interface design.
