Senior Brand & Digital Experience Designer - Remote

Overview

We are looking for a Senior Brand & Digital Experience Designer to enhance our design team – someone who will elevate the brand experience of nebenan.de on the web and beyond.

In Short

• Lead the design and continuous development of a diverse ecosystem of websites and landing pages that reach millions of visitors monthly.
• Drive the development and maintenance of our Design System for scalability, visual consistency, and creative excellence across all channels.
• Advance our visual design language ensuring nebenan.de remains fresh, unique, and aligned with our mission.
• Collaborate closely with various teams and stakeholders to ensure a consistent and accessible digital brand experience.
• Support colleagues in web design, visual communication, and creative problem-solving with best practices.
• Contribute to the development of digital campaign materials and marketing assets ensuring brand coherence across platforms.
• Occasionally participate in UX work and user research to base design decisions on user insights.
• Utilize your skills flexibly where they are most needed – this role offers variety and opportunities for development in different areas.

Requirements

• A degree in Communication Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in web, brand, or product design – ideally both freelance and in-house.
• Proven experience in leading and implementing web and brand design projects from concept to implementation.
• Strong knowledge in responsive design, modern layout principles, and accessible design standards.
• Proficient in design systems and experience in their development.
• Strong aesthetic sense, excellent typography skills, and an eye for brand-consistent details.
• Experience in website implementation, either with visual editors (e.g., Webflow or similar tools) or in HTML/CSS.
• Familiarity with AI-driven design workflows (e.g., Figma AI, Midjourney or similar tools) to enhance efficiency and creative exploration.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to present design decisions persuasively at all levels.
• Experience in UX design and/or user research is a strong plus. A well-curated portfolio with relevant and impactful projects is a prerequisite for this application.
