Intermediate Frontend Engineer (Vue.js) - Remote

Overview

As a frontend engineer on the Plan: Product Planning team, you’ll work primarily on the work-items views, collaborating closely with Product and Design counterparts to finalize requirements and break down projects into smaller iterations.

In Short

• Work with Vue.js and Apollo Client to enhance GitLab's frontend.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams for project requirements.
• Participate in quality rotation focusing on performance and security.
• Write extensive tests to ensure code quality.
• Support and mentor other frontend engineers.
• Engage with the open-source community by organizing hackathons.
• Suggest and execute process improvements during retrospectives.
• Work in a highly agile and iterative software development process.

Requirements

• Professional experience with Vue.js (2.x) and Apollo Client.
• Experience building fullstack web applications with GraphQL.
• Proficiency in writing automated tests using Jest.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and core JavaScript concepts.
• Ability to communicate complex technical problems effectively.
• Experience with performance optimization and problem-solving.
• Comfortable in an agile software development environment.
• Some experience with backend technologies, especially Ruby on Rails is a plus.
