Overview

The Senior Software Engineer (AI & Digital Solutions) will play a key role in designing and developing scalable, impactful technology solutions that support a nonprofit's mission to improve public education.

• Design, implement, and maintain full-stack web applications and backend services.
• Develop AI-powered features and integrate machine learning tools into product workflows.
• Write clean, testable, and efficient code while reviewing code from peers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience also considered.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in full-stack development.
• Experience building and scaling web applications in a cloud environment (preferably AWS).
• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies, tools, and frameworks.
• Comfortable working in agile development environments.
• Mission-aligned experience in nonprofits or education is a plus.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React, Node.js, or similar.
• Proficiency in backend development, REST APIs, and working with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (e.g., Docker, ECS).
• Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to AI tools and libraries such as OpenAI APIs, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
