Lead Platform/DevOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

GDIT is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to support an exciting new position in our Defense division to lead the build, configuration, and sustainment of a Software Factory capability for the US Army.

In Short

• Lead the determination of guidelines and standards for deploying to an on-prem VMWare infrastructure using Kubernetes.
• Execute the standup and operation of multiple Kubernetes cluster environments.
• Deploy and configure GitLab and other DevSecOps tools.
• Develop automation for building Virtual Machine Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines.
• Provide DevSecOps support to application support teams.
• Ensure operational availability of Kubernetes deployed applications.
• Educate teams on adoption and support of DevSecOps practices.
• Manage deployments of multiple applications to Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of DevSecOps competencies for innovation.
• Handle dynamic work environment with effective organization skills.

Requirements

• 8+ years of related experience.
• Active Secret security clearance or T1 background check.
• BA/BS Degree (or equivalent experience).
• Experience with Linux and Linux-based operating systems.
• Proficiency in CI/CD practices.
• Experience deploying applications in Azure-hosted environments.
• Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language.
• Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Agile lifecycle management processes.
