Patient Finance Manager - Remote

Overview

The Patient Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Payment Posting, Financial Counseling, and Customer Service functions and strategizing ways to increase company profitability. They will lead the Payment Posting, Financial Counseling, and Customer Service Teams, working closely with them to ensure all payments are reconciled and posted and patient out of pocket expenses are handled correctly, and all customer calls are answered timely, further maximizing collected revenue.

In Short

• Manage the payment posting, financial counseling, and customer service teams’ productivity, and pertinent quality/reporting metrics for the department.
• Oversee staff to ensure all RCM finance management functions are worked successfully and within established timeframes.
• With the Revenue Cycle Director, develop key performance indicators and departmental goals for all employees to measure performance and productivity rates within department.
• Ensure staff is gathering valid and appropriate information from patients to maximize revenue management, working with the team to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy on an on-going basis.
• Post all payments and adjustments: ensures all payments and adjustments are balanced/reconciled on a daily basis to the system and bank.
• Resolves any deposits that are unable to be posted.
• Resolves patient complaints timely.
• Review manual and electronic explanation of benefits to assure proper posting.
• Works closely with front office in regard to their deposits and reconciliation.
• Improve processes within the department, emphasizing quality and efficiency, while identifying roadblocks and establishing corrective measures.

Benefits

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience in medical billing environment preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Thorough understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding protocols and procedures.
• Experience and strong understanding of medical coding, billing, appealing denials, and collection of physician accounts receivable.
• Working knowledge of AMA coding guidelines, government and commercial payer regulations, insurance contract analysis, and denial resolution is required.
• Experience with Epic software, SSI Group/Clearinghouse preferred.
