Overview

Spear AI is seeking an experienced Design Engineer who builds beautiful and data-intensive applications that delight the user. You will be responsible for crafting the tools used by hundreds of people on a daily basis to maneuver and navigate a US nuclear submarine.

In Short

• You will be architecting and developing interfaces, state management and access patterns to support data-intensive workflows.
• Engage with users to understand their needs and identify product gaps.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to develop solutions.
• Work in a cloud environment that spans unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret regions.
• Handle sophisticated technical problems and design solutions incrementally.
• Focus on user experience and intricate UX needs.
• Utilize tools such as Figma for design tasks.
• Implement performance optimization techniques.
• Engage in testing practices such as A/B testing and cross-browser testing.
• Check code quality via GitHub or similar platforms.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Semantic HTML elements.
• Proficient with Tailwind CSS and strong CSS fundamentals.
• Experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Understanding of server-side rendering and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and state management tools.
• Experience with design systems and responsive design.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices.
• Experience with localization and internationalization.
• Ability to manage user onboarding and auth workflows.
• Experience with geospatial data and complex filtering.
