Overview

The Director of Outreach and Grassroots Activism will direct and oversee PETA’s public outreach efforts and work with activists to promote animal rights, managing personnel and strategic objectives.

• Develop, manage, and oversee PETA’s public outreach efforts.
• Work closely with and manage the Action Team and Grassroots Protest Team.
• Increase the effectiveness of PETA's work with volunteers and activists.
• Strategize ways to recruit and develop activists and volunteers.
• Ensure effective communication with activists.
• Analyze the effectiveness of activist efforts and suggest improvements.
• Represent PETA’s campaigns to the general public.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• 10 years experience in outreach or grassroots campaigns.
• 5 years management experience.
• Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues.
• Effective supervisory or leadership skills.
• Ability to think critically and creatively.
• Willingness to travel.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Professional appearance and adherence to a healthy vegan lifestyle.
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization.
