Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

FHI is hiring a hands-on Data Engineer who works independently and thrives in a fast-moving environment. You’ll own and support ETL/data pipelines, integrations, and reporting—diagnosing issues, improving data quality, and partnering with BI to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

In Short

• Maintain and support ETL, data flows, and reporting processes.
• Serve as Level-1 production support for data flow incidents.
• Monitor, schedule, and optimize BI jobs.
• Troubleshoot upstream/downstream impacts.
• Build and refine data pipelines.
• Automate manual processes and improve data delivery.
• Create clear documentation for ETL processes.
• Work independently and multi-task in a rapidly changing environment.
• Collaborate with BI to deliver reporting solutions.
• Strong preference for candidates based in North Carolina.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills including queries and tuning.
• Experience with Python and Pandas.
• Knowledge of data architecture and modeling.
• Familiarity with SDLC and excellent analytical skills.
• Experience with SQL Server/Snowflake or similar environments.
• Knowledge of source control (e.g., Git).
• Education in Computer Science or related field.
• Certifications in relevant tools (e.g., Azure Data Engineer).
