Overview

This role involves being a founding member of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team at Freenome, focusing on maintaining reliable cloud-based production environments and contributing to meaningful engineering work that can save lives.

In Short

• Define and implement observability practices for production systems.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams on incident management.
• Establish service-level indicators (SLIs) and objectives (SLOs).
• Participate in on-call rotations and champion automation.
• Contribute to production deployment processes meeting compliance requirements.
• Automate operational tasks to reduce manual intervention.
• Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for managing infrastructure.
• Help build out the SRE practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in software engineering or Infra/DevOps/SRE roles.
• Experience deploying cloud infrastructure via automation.
• Incident management experience in cloud/software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with production workloads in cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in distributed systems.
• Experience with observability platforms.
• Ability to define and implement metrics and alerting.
• Strong understanding of cloud Infrastructure and Networking architectures.
