Vice President, External Affairs - Remote

Overview

The Vice President, External Affairs is a critical new position that will help to develop fundraising strategies aligned with Freedom Together’s mission and position Freedom Together as a thought leader in philanthropy.

In Short

• Lead the design and implementation of funder organizing and communications strategies.
• Act as a strategic advisor to the Foundation President and Senior Leaders.
• Manage external consultants and potentially an internal team.
• Develop and execute strategies to deepen relationships with major foundations and donors.
• Lead the development of external communications plans.
• Track and align external outreach across Foundation staff.
• Drive the successful execution of key projects.
• Commitment to Freedom Together’s mission.
• Minimum 8-10 years experience in funder/donor organizing or fundraising.
• Excellent communication and project management abilities.

Requirements

• Experience in a social justice context.
• Deep knowledge of major foundation funders and UHNW donors.
• Minimum 5 years managing a team.
• Ability to develop and implement engagement strategies.
• High level of emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills.
• Adaptable and resilient in a dynamic environment.
• Demonstrated success in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
