Senior Accountant - Remote

Overview

The Senior Accountant is a critical new position at the Freedom Together Foundation, responsible for enhancing operational and grantmaking functions through detailed financial reporting and compliance.

In Short

• Preparation and analysis of budgeted vs actual revenue/expense.
• Review and allocation of departmental expenses.
• Ensure compliance with auditing and financial regulations.
• Assist in annual financial audits and tax return preparations.
• Support the Finance Team with various projects.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Experience in a foundation is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• CPA or former CPA required.
• 4-6 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of major accounting software, SAGE Intacct preferred.
• Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• High ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Persistent and thoughtful communication skills.
