Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Fife Assessor Service as a Divisional Assessor. The role will be pivotal in driving professional training in the Service as well as the Assessor Information Notices/Civil Penalties process.

In Short

  • Responsible for efficient work allocation and training of technical staff.
  • Conduct property surveys and valuations throughout Fife.
  • Compile and maintain the Valuation Roll and Council Tax Valuation List.
  • Lead role in the survey and valuation of specialist properties.
  • Support the Assessor Information Notices/Civil Penalties process.
  • Engage in blended working with home and office arrangements.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and case law governing Council tax.
  • Provide training and support to the technical team.
  • Ability to travel to various locations throughout Fife.
  • Obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership.

Requirements

  • Educated to SCQF Level 9 (degree or equivalent).
  • Qualified to full professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS/FRICS).
  • Practical working knowledge of the legislation governing Council tax and Non-Domestic Rating.
  • Strong leadership and training skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in property survey techniques.
  • Experience in valuations and property assessments.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
