Families First Specialist - Social Worker - Remote

Overview

This role involves providing direct in-home services to families at risk of child abuse and neglect, aiming to keep families intact and prevent foster care placement.

In Short

• Provides intensive in-home services for families referred by child protective services.
• Responsible for writing service plans and progress reports.
• Maintains documentation on all cases including time sheets and case notes.
• Offers emergency availability for client families.
• May work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
• Teaches parenting and coping skills to families.
• Collaborates with referring workers from DHS and foster care.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and ability to transport clients.
• Must complete ongoing training and attend agency meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service field or equivalent experience.
• Two years of experience working with children and families.
• Master's degree in social work or related field preferred.
• Lived experience with behavioral health issues is a plus.
• Experience working with families is highly preferred.
