Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated research technician to join the Dey Group, focusing on the evolution and diversity of cell division mechanisms across the eukaryotic tree.

In Short

  • Construct an ultrastructural atlas of microbial eukaryotes using expansion microscopy.
  • Part of a UNIGE-EMBL consortium funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
  • Responsible for cultivation of microbial species and site visits to preserve cultures.
  • Implement expansion microscopy protocol and image gels using microscopy techniques.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary international team.
  • Contract length of 2 years with possible extension.
  • Fluent verbal and written skills in English are required.
  • Experience in experimental life sciences research is preferred.

Requirements

  • Basic microbiology and/or tissue culture skills.
  • Familiarity with fluorescence imaging modalities.
  • Experience in life sciences research settings.
  • Ability to integrate into a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with the expansion microscopy protocol is a plus.
  • Experience with high-throughput fluorescence microscopy is advantageous.
  • Experience with unconventional or non-model systems is a bonus.
