Senior Database Developer - Remote

Overview

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Database Developer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert remotely. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

In Short

• Assist in designing high performance, high availability database systems;
• Develop XML and SQL script-based procedures;
• Code the extract, transform, and load routines using PL/SQL and SQL Server Integration Services;
• Develop UNIX shell scripts and/or Windows batch files to facilitate in the extraction, movement, and loading of transactional data;
• Maintain and enhance existing Oracle-based UNICEF Data warehouse structures;
• Maintain SQL loader scripts uploading to the Oracle;
• Maintain product documentation, production configuration and technical documentation including logical and physical database designs, metadata, and production procedures;
• Regularly monitor database performance and tune it as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in database development;
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL;
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services;
• Familiarity with UNIX and Windows scripting;
• Experience in data warehousing;
• Ability to work collaboratively with IT teams;
• Strong problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication skills in English.
