Specimen Collector - Remote

Overview

The Specimen Collector is responsible for the accurate and professional collection of patient specimens in physician offices and clinical environments, ensuring the integrity of all specimens collected by following established protocols and regulatory requirements.

In Short

• Collect patient specimens including urine and oral fluid samples.
• Perform blood specimen collection via venipuncture when applicable.
• Follow established patient identification and specimen collection protocols.
• Maintain specimen integrity by adhering to standard operating procedures.
• Complete and verify laboratory requisition forms.
• Label and package specimens for transport to the laboratory.
• Enter patient information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Coordinate with clinic staff to obtain missing patient information.
• Participate in required training programs.
• Represent Ethos professionally in patient interactions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior specimen collection or medical experience preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage tasks efficiently.
• Strong interpersonal and patient care skills.
• Ability to work independently under remote supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
