Data Analyst for Cloud Migration - Remote

Overview

ESW has embarked on our biggest technical program of our history and are looking for someone to be at the core of the major transformation moving from monolith platforms to a modern, event-driven, micro-service architecture on the Microsoft Azure cloud (leveraging CosmosDB and JSON designed Events).

In Short

• Analyze and document the data lineage of monolith platform databases.
• Become the domain expert on how data is used, its origins, and its business linkage to key tables/fields.
• Ensure program deliverables and deadlines are met.
• Handle relationships with senior product, business, and technical collaborators.
• Develop a deep understanding of ESW enterprise data.
• Produce high-quality documentation, such as data lineage reports, data models, and technical reports.
• Promote the importance of data quality, governance, and ownership.
• Identify and map critical data dependencies across services, applications, and downstream systems.
• Collaborate with QA teams to define benchmarks for data quality.
• Bridge gaps between development, architecture, and business teams.

Requirements

• Proficiency with SQL Server Profiler or equivalent and advanced T-SQL skills.
• Knowledge of ETL pipelines to understand current data flows.
• Familiarity with the basic concepts of event sourcing and stream processing.
• Basic skills with Postman for debugging, testing, and mocking API integrations.
• Familiarity with tools like Power BI, Looker, or Azure Data Studio.
• Expertise in reading, understanding, and building JSON and AVRO data models.
• Basic knowledge of cloud data services, with an emphasis on Azure CosmosDB.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Skilled at navigating competing stakeholder priorities.
