GIS Data Analyst - Remote

Overview

Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a GIS Data Analyst to join our Ratio.City team. The successful candidate will work closely with the Ratio.City Planning Data Team and will be responsible for sourcing and managing urban planning data to support the Ratio.City web app.

In Short

• Identify and acquire data from authoritative sources relevant to land use planning
• Perform data quality control, cleaning, processing and GIS analysis
• Transform data into usable formats, including georeferencing and manual conversion of PDFs to spatial formats
• Ingest data into the Ratio.City platform, including field mapping, styling and the creation of metadata
• Develop scripts, processes and methods to automate data acquisition and maintenance
• Develop documentation, blogs, videos and other communication material
• Research urban planning concepts across Canada

Requirements

• 1+ years experience with Ratio.City data ingestion interface
• 1+ years experience with Esri’s ArcGIS products (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)
• Experience with Python, SQL in an ArcGIS environment
• Familiarity with Esri REST Services and other APIs
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator or other vector graphics software
• Experience interpreting Canadian urban planning policy documents
• Familiarity with ontological concepts and platforms
• University degree in geography (GIS), urban planning or equivalent education and experience
