Overview

As a Staff Backend Engineer at Empower, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our solutions, identifying strategic technical needs, leading large-scale product initiatives, and optimizing engineering processes.

In Short

Identify opportunities to foster optimal product direction.
Ownership of technical initiatives and project management.
Lead technical interviews and mentor engineers.
Lead incident responses and engineering of complex product initiatives.
Design, build, and deploy server application code.
Implement secure coding standards and meet sprint goals.
Monitor server application performance.
Participate in server ops on-call schedule.
Travel for company offsites at least twice a year.
Work from anywhere.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience developing web APIs within .NET (C#).
Experience with ORMs such as Entity Framework.
Experience constructing and optimizing RDMS queries.
Experience with asynchronous programming model.
General knowledge of Messaging Queues (e.g., AMQP).
General knowledge of PaaS environments (e.g., Azure).
