Staff Software Engineer - Backend (Remote)

Overview

As a Staff Backend Engineer at Empower, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of our solutions, identifying strategic technical needs, leading large-scale product initiatives, and optimizing engineering processes.

In Short

• Identify opportunities to foster optimal product direction.
• Ownership of technical initiatives and project management.
• Lead technical interviews and mentor engineers.
• Lead incident responses and engineering of complex product initiatives.
• Design, build, and deploy server application code.
• Implement secure coding standards and meet sprint goals.

• Participate in server ops on-call schedule.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience developing web APIs within .NET (C#).
• Experience with ORMs such as Entity Framework.
• Experience constructing and optimizing RDMS queries.
• Experience with asynchronous programming model.
• General knowledge of Messaging Queues (e.g., AMQP).
• General knowledge of PaaS environments (e.g., Azure).
