Community Ambassador (Casual I) - Remote

Overview

The Opioid Abatement Strategies Effectiveness Evaluation (OASEE) has an opening for a Community Ambassador (Casual I), reporting to the Senior Research Associate in Chicago. This is a short-term, primarily remote casual position (per diem) through June 30, 2026. The Community Ambassador will work with a team on an evaluation project specifically related to opioid overdose prevention, response, and recovery in the state of Illinois.

In Short

• Work on an evaluation project related to opioid overdose prevention.
• Collaborate with a team and communicate clearly.
• Conduct data collection, including surveys and interviews.
• Assist in writing and editing materials for evaluation findings.
• Engage with organizations serving the recovery community.
• Participate in virtual meetings and occasional travel in Illinois.
• Bring lived recovery experience and knowledge of harm reduction.
• Flexibility to work as needed in a casual position.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in community engagement.
• Experience with research and evaluation activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in groups and independently.
• Open-mindedness and willingness to learn.
• Knowledge of substance use disorder services.
• Travel capability for in-person meetings in Illinois.
