Overview

The Eclipse Foundation is one of the world’s largest open source software foundations, with a proven track record of enabling developer-focused open source innovation earned over 20 years. The Foundation is the home of numerous industry-leading projects and collaborations including Adoptium, Software Defined Vehicle, Eclipse IDE, IoT and Jakarta EE. Supported by over 350 members globally, the Foundation has an established international reach and reputation. The Eclipse Foundation is growing its Policy team in Europe to better serve the open source community and address the numerous new regulations that impact the open source ecosystem. In particular, the Eclipse Foundation has formed the Open Regulatory Compliance industry collaboration, representing industry, other open source foundations, and other stakeholders in addressing new regulations like the Cyber Resilience Act.

In Short

• Develop and implement policy initiatives that support the foundation's mission and advocacy goals in the EU.
• Build relationships with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the foundation at EU-level events and conferences.
• Provide analysis and strategic guidance on EU policy issues.
• Advise and support Eclipse Foundation staff in public policy engagements.
• Monitor and analyze EU policy developments related to open source software.
• Collaborate with other open source software foundations to advance shared policy objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in EU policy advocacy.
• Demonstrated understanding of EU policy-making processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to work in a highly collaborative and distributed team.
