In Short

• Prepare historic resource surveys, evaluations, and related technical documents in compliance with CEQA, NEPA, Section 106 of the NHPA, and applicable local requirements.
• Evaluate historic resources in consideration of NRHP, CRHR, and local-level designation criteria and integrity requirements.
• Ability to research, develop, and write historic context statements.
• Conduct and delegate technical work to entry-level staff when appropriate.
• Conduct, organize, and lead built environment fieldwork efforts.
• Assist in assessing CEQA impacts/Section 106 effects on historical resources/historic properties.
• Have a working understanding of the Secretary of the Interiors Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
• Ability to work within report and project budgets, manage a technical report from start to finish, and meet deliverable deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate as a member of the cultural resources group.

Requirements

• Master's degree in History, Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or a related field.
• Strong writing and research skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team of cultural resources professionals.
• Experience conducting property-specific research.
• Familiarity with CHRIS records searches.
• Experience developing historic context statements.
• Experience evaluating properties in accordance with local, state, and national criteria.
• Ability to travel for fieldwork.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have active personal automobile liability insurance.
