Overview

The Mechanical Principal Engineer will lead the development of innovative mechanical design solutions for computer systems and peripherals, focusing on serviceability and manufacturability.

In Short

• Develop mechanical design solutions for desktop, portable, and server systems.
• Conduct analysis and testing of mechanical products and packaging.
• Focus on hardware device design and system-level manufacturing automation.
• Engage with ODMs on factory processes with an emphasis on automated assembly.
• Become a subject matter expert in Design for Manufacturing Assembly and Automation (DFMAA).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Device and Platform teams.
• Capture lessons learned for future designs and specifications.
• Possess extensive knowledge in computer hardware mechanical engineering concepts.
• Good understanding of factory assembly automation in the computer industry.
• Fluency in English and strong communication skills are essential.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related fields.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering concepts related to computer hardware.
• Solid understanding of component designs and their interactions with computer chassis.
• Familiarity with DFMA and FMEA methodologies.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Extended work experience with DFMA and FMEA is desirable.
