Senior Policy and Planning Specialist (Forest Service) - Remote

Overview

This professional-level position is responsible for implementing Defenders of Wildlife’s federal lands portfolio and major campaigns to increase wildlife habitat protections and advance imperiled species recovery on U.S. multiple-use federal lands.

In Short

• Spearhead and coordinate advocacy for habitat protection policies.
• Track federal land use policies affecting at-risk species.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; JDs encouraged to apply.
• 8 years of relevant experience; 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ecology and environmental laws.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively.
• Experience in public planning and resource management.
• Understanding of change management principles.
