Lead Software Engineer - Back End Infrastructure - Remote

Overview

As a Lead Software Engineer on the Back End Infrastructure (BEI) team, you will be part of the larger DevX Group with the goal of improving engineering velocity and efficiency. You will play a technical leadership role in the core development team (maintainer) of cross cutting libraries, tools and services empowering product development at Dave.

In Short

• Participate and occasionally lead roadmap planning and scrum events.
• Lead design and work breakdown sessions.
• Implement requirements in TypeScript, JavaScript, Golang, and Bash.
• Mentor other engineers in contributing to projects on our roadmap.
• Implement dashboards and alerts for system faults.
• Work closely with product development engineers.
• Collaborate with Front End Infrastructure Engineering.
• Design and provision necessary infrastructure for BEI initiatives.
• Champion code quality and testability.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations.

Requirements

• BS in CS or equivalent discipline and 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Ability to break work down into digestible work packages.
• Basic understanding of algorithm design and data structures.
• Advanced design principles: OOP, SOLID, and software architectural patterns.
• Ability to write provable code in various programming languages.
• Understanding of mocking, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Intermediate understanding of databases and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with load balancing and containerization.
• Some familiarity with ETL pipelines and data warehousing.
