Staff Engineer - Event Platform Storage - Remote

Overview

As a Staff Engineer in the Event Platform Storage team, you will contribute to a high-reliability platform that ingests, transforms, and stores events for Datadog products, handling approximately 15 million messages per second.

In Short

• Build and operate distributed, high-throughput, real-time data pipelines.
• Work primarily with Go and Java, with some Python.
• Utilize Kafka, Kubernetes, FoundationDB, and other open-source components.
• Own significant parts of the service and have a meaningful impact.
• Design and architect effective data pipelines using modern architecture.
• Write substantial code and lead architectural decisions.

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Math, Physics, or equivalent STEM field.
• Experience with programming languages such as Go, Java, Rust, C++, or Python.
• Experience in building storage engines, datastores, or high-scale distributed systems.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment.
