Overview

The Industrial/Facility Design Engineer will play a key role in shaping the future of Daniels Health’s medical waste treatment facilities. This fully remote position involves designing and optimizing facility layouts, integrating advanced mechanical, electrical, steam, and plumbing systems that enhance safety, efficiency, and environmental performance.

• Develop detailed design plans, layouts, and drawings for new and existing medical waste treatment facilities.
• Standardize facility and equipment installation processes.
• Apply MEP expertise for system designs.
• Develop knowledge of equipment such as boilers and autoclaves.

• Propose design alternatives for safety and sustainability.
• Prepare technical drawings using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Manage third-party professional services and coordinate with contractors.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.
• Support permitting and review processes with regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in facility design, particularly in industrial process facilities.
• Experience in regulated environments like medical waste or pharmaceuticals.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and electrical distribution systems.
• Familiarity with building codes and environmental compliance.
• Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
