Medical Scribe - Remote

Overview

The purpose of a Medical Scribe at Oak Street Health is to support our primary care providers with clinical documentation so that they can focus on providing exceptional care to our patients.

In Short

• Join providers in the exam room to document patient encounters.
• Assist with clinical documentation improvement.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries and assign appropriate codes.
• Provide administrative support for the care team.
• Commit to at least 1-2 years in the role.
• Gain practical experience for pre-med track individuals.
• Receive extensive on-the-job training.
• Work approximately 40-45 hours per week.
• Adapt to new workflows quickly.

Requirements

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience or scribe experience preferred.
• Advanced listening and communication skills.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Ability to type 70+ words per minute.
• Ability to work in-person in clinics.
• Compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies.
• US work authorization required.
