Accountant - Subject Matter Expert for DoD Financial Reporting - Remote

Overview

CSCI is on the hunt for a seasoned Accountant to take the lead and serve as our Subject Matter Expert (SME) in financial statement reporting for a major Department of Defense (DoD) client.

In Short

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of audited financial statements.
• Navigate complex financial policies.
• Respond to external auditors.
• Assist in the quarterly audited financial statement close for the DoD General Fund.
• Prepare accompanying notes and financial statement variance analyses.
• Advise on Federal Accounting Standards and policies.
• Conduct financial statement reviews with management.
• Present financial statements and disclosures to auditors.
• Bring expertise and problem-solving skills to the team.
• Make an impact in a critical DoD initiative.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management.
• Department of Defense Secret Clearance required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in DoD GF operations and accounting.
• Familiarity with SFFAS and OMB Circulars.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work with clients effectively.
