Geospatial Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

credium is seeking a Geospatial Engineer to join our startup team. You will play a key role in the development of our geospatial data products by designing, developing and maintaining our ETL pipelines, ensuring data quality throughout the data life cycle. You will work closely with other data engineers, software engineers, and data scientists to ensure data accuracy and completeness, and to meet customer needs.

• You design, implement and maintain robust, scalable and efficient data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• You ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across various platforms and systems.
• You create data model, data mapping, and data lineage documentation.
• You create geodata insights and reports.
• You transform raw geodata into features that enhance our products.
• You collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their data requirements.

Requirements

• You hold a degree in Computer Science, Geoinformatics, or related field or comparable working experience.
• You have proven professional experience with large-scale geospatial data.
• You have strong Python skills (pandas, numpy, geopandas, gdal, shapely, rasterio).
• You are familiar with GIS tools (such as QGIS, ArcGIS).
• You have solid RDBMS skills and experience with database management (PostgreSQL/Oracle/MSSQL).
• You have strong sense of responsibility and ability to tackle both high-level design and detailed data issues.
• You can document and explain complex technical concepts.
• You have strong communication skills for collaboration.
• (Bonus) Experience with Cloud Data Infrastructure, ideally Azure.
• (Bonus) Experience with PySpark for large datasets and transforming geospatial data using Sedona.
