One of the leading causes of catastrophic wildfires and power outages? Trees and brush coming into contact with power lines.

That’s where we help. At Overstory, we use AI and advanced satellite imagery to pinpoint and prioritize vegetation risks before they materialize. By giving utilities critical analysis on those risks, we’re helping prevent outages, reduce wildfire risks, and accelerate the transition to a safer, more resilient grid.

In Short

• You will work within the Data Ingestion team responsible for ingesting satellite imagery and geospatial data.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and create new processes for data processing.
• Collaborate with geospatial data engineers and other teams.
• Optimize existing processes and create new systems.
• Reduce manual work in processing geospatial data.
• Ensure processes can handle 3x YoY growth.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers.
• Work in a build it, run it environment (GCP, cloud run, grafana, k8s).
• Design and implement scalable systems.
• Communicate effectively in a cross-functional team.

Requirements

• Passionate about climate.
• 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• Product-minded with a significant impact on business through technology.
• Experience with geospatial data engineering technologies.
• Comfortable in a build it, run it environment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Passion for learning and staying updated with technologies.
• Based in GMT/CET time zone.
