Overview

The Senior Payroll Associate plays a crucial role in managing payroll transactions and assisting employees with payroll-related issues in a remote setting.

In Short

  • Process payroll transactions for academic and nonacademic personnel.
  • Advise departmental supervisors on payroll-related issues.
  • Assist new employees with payroll and benefit forms.
  • Maintain personnel and payroll-related files.
  • Support the hiring process and employee evaluation documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with foreign national paperwork for visas.
  • Administer academic bonus and faculty compensation plans.
  • Participate in the annual budget process.
  • Prepare cost-transfers and journals as needed.
  • Work in a normal office environment remotely.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in a university environment.
  • Strong skills in accounting and payroll processing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and HR software systems.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with grants management is preferred.
  • No specific certifications required.
