Overview

As a Legal Counsel at Copper, you will advise on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters, focusing on banking and financial services regulation, particularly in the context of digital assets.

In Short

• Advise executive teams and stakeholders on legal matters.
• Support license application processes for US customers.
• Engage with regulators and advise on governance and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the Product Team on compliance for new products.
• Draft and manage license applications.
• Help develop trainee solicitors and paralegals.
• Manage legal spend and external counsel.
• Address ad-hoc legal queries in business operations.

Requirements

• US qualified lawyer with post-qualification experience.
• Experience in regulatory matters, especially MTLs and custody licenses.
• Knowledge of banking and financial services regulation in the US.
• Ability to manage transactions and escalate issues appropriately.
• Exceptional drafting and communication skills.
• Interest in technology, tokenisation, and crypto.
