Overview

As a Compliance Counsel at CookUnity, you will lead regulatory compliance efforts across USDA, FDA, and consumer protection laws, ensuring our operations, labeling, and tech platforms meet all requirements.

In Short

• Lead USDA and FDA regulatory compliance across manufacturing and labeling.
• Support consumer tech compliance with FTC advertising rules and data privacy laws.
• Manage internal audits and policy development.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory inquiries and inspections.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate legal risks.
• Draft and review vendor agreements with compliance implications.
• 5-10 years of experience required.
• J.D. from accredited law school required.
• Exceptional drafting and communication skills needed.
• Experience with agency audits and recalls preferred.

Requirements

• J.D. from accredited law school; admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5–10 years experience in-house or with a law firm.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance work and food safety law.
• Exceptional drafting, communication, and project leadership skills.
• Experience handling agency audits, recalls, enforcement actions, and internal investigations.
