Overview

As a CGS Legal Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor. You will provide litigation and administrative support to a group of United States Attorneys, contributing to government innovation and professional growth.

In Short

  • Provide litigation and administrative support to attorneys.
  • Prepare and proofread legal documents.
  • Electronically file documents with state or federal courts.
  • Assist with trial preparation and organization of legal data.
  • Maintain calendars and track case deadlines.
  • Perform docketing duties and manage case files.
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys and clients.
  • Utilize various software applications for document preparation.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as required.
  • Provide automated litigation assistance during trials.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized litigation experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality work.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
