Intake Therapist - Remote

Overview

Compass Health Center is seeking an Intake Therapist within our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs in our Silver Spring office. This role will work with Adolescent (12+) and Adult (18+) patients in our Mood & Anxiety programs, as well as our specialty programs and services: School Refusal, Trauma, OCD/Complex Anxiety, Mental Health and Substance Use.

In Short

• Complete initial intake evaluations for patients ages 12 and up to determine diagnosis and appropriateness of program
• Screen potential intakes and answer questions from families, providers, and potential patients
• Facilitate family sessions to a small caseload of assigned patients and their loved ones
• Provide guidance and support to patients and family members to help promote goals and encourage patients progress through the program.
• Provide direction to families about effective ways of supporting patients.
• Work with patients and families regarding appropriate referrals if treatment at Compass Health Center is not indicated during intake
• Interface with program directors during intake process regarding patient appropriateness for programming
• Provide individual therapy and case management for enrolled patients, as needed
• Participate in professional development activities
• Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed Doctorate Level Psychologist, Masters Level Clinician with clinical license such as the LCPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc. (or very close to full clinical licensure)
• 2+ years of clinical experience conducting intake assessments and individual therapy (preferred)
• Have knowledge and experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other empirically supported treatments
• Have previous experience with patients in crisis (preferred)
• Have worked in a PHP/IOP, residential, or inpatient setting (preferred)
