Senior Sustainability Enforcement Attorney - Remote

Overview

This position focuses on enforcing New York City’s climate policies, particularly Local Law 97, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from large buildings.

In Short

• Supervise an enforcement team and work on enforcement cases.
• Promote effective enforcement and compliance with sustainability regulations.
• Perform case management including legal strategy and case tracking.
• Prepare and prosecute cases at the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH).
• Manage special projects and assignments.
• Support collection of penalties and fines.
• Develop enforcement policy and improve communication among stakeholders.
• Conduct training related to enforcement processes.
• Prepare reports and analyses on enforcement cases.
• Contribute to overall enforcement initiatives and programs.

Requirements

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• One year of legal experience or six months as an Agency Attorney Intern.
• Must remain a member of the New York State Bar in good standing.
• Experience in areas of law related to sustainability enforcement.
