Energy Code Development Specialist - Remote

Overview

The Energy Code Compliance unit seeks a candidate to assist in the rule-making process concerning amendments to the Energy Code and related regulations. The role focuses on establishing new metrics and energy targets based on research and reports from third-party consultants.

• Assist in the rule-making process for the Energy Code.
• Collaborate with third-party consultants on energy metrics.

• Identify overlaps with NYC Construction Code.
• Prepare cost and benefit statements for proposed changes.
• Research and draft proposed amendments to the Energy Code.
• Participate in the Energy Code Advisory Committee.

Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Four years of experience in energy generation or conservation.
• One year in an administrative, managerial, or executive capacity.
• Experience in construction or building trades is a plus.
• Ability to review and develop training materials.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with code compliance and construction documents.
• Knowledge of Energy Code regulations.
• Experience in technical reviews and evaluations.
