Overview

The Agency Attorney L2 position involves litigating cases for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation to enforce housing standards and ensure compliance with legal regulations.

In Short

• Litigate cases in Housing Court on behalf of HPD.
• Enforce and collect money judgments for the City.
• Conduct complex legal research and prepare legal documents.
• Prepare for and conduct trials.
• Advise on legal aspects of housing enforcement.
• Must be a member of the New York State Bar.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge of HPD's internal databases is preferred.
• Remote work eligible up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• One year of legal experience or six months as an Agency Attorney Intern.
• Maintain good standing in the New York State Bar.
• Experience in housing law preferred.
