In Short

• Work autonomously across our Ruby on Rails backend and React front-end.
• Lead complex projects end-to-end, making thoughtful decisions around architecture, design, and product.
• Integrate and scale payment solutions like Stripe, PayPal, and native in-app payment providers.
• Scale our checkout experiences — ensuring they are seamless, reliable, and optimized.
• Build and improve critical monetization features with a strong product focus.
• Collaborate closely with Circle's leadership and product teams during feature design.
• Partner with designers to deliver seamless, intuitive user experiences.
• Move fast with purpose — balancing iteration speed with technical and UX excellence.

Requirements

• Strong alignment with our values.
• You are proficient in English at a CEFR Level C2 / ILR Level 5.
• 5+ years of experience working as a full-stack engineer on complex web applications.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails, MySQL/PostgreSQL, ReactJS, TypeScript, CSS/SCSS, and TailwindCSS.
• Deep experience integrating and maintaining payment systems (e.g. Stripe, PayPal).
• A strong understanding of checkout flows, payment processing, subscriptions lifecycle, and monetization architecture.
• Motivation to understand the business and deliver results.
• A desire to work in an environment that values speed, autonomy, and accountability.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with a certain level of ambiguity.
• Familiar with agile software development principles.
• Experience working on a fully distributed remote team.
