Senior Malware and Forensic Analyst - Remote

Overview

cFocus Software seeks a Malware and Forensic Analyst (Senior) to join our program supporting US Courts in Washington, DC. This position has remote capabilities.

In Short

• 5 years of experience analyzing forensic artifacts and identifying intrusion root causes.
• Experience with forensics tools like Magnet AXIOM, SANS SIFT Workstation, and Encase.
• Ability to perform malware analysis and create duplicates of evidence.
• Work 80% onsite at AOUSC office in Washington, DC.
• Provide digital forensics and incident response support to the AOUSC Security Operations Center.
• Analyze forensic artifacts of operating systems to discover elements of an intrusion.
• Perform live forensic analysis based on SIEM data.
• Extract deleted data using data carving techniques.
• Document all forensic reports accurately and timely.
• Participate in advanced subject matter expert technical investigative support.

Requirements

• 5 years of experience in digital forensics and malware analysis.
• Proficiency in using forensic tools and techniques.
• Certifications such as GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity threats and incident response.
• Experience with cloud-based applications and security measures.
• Ability to document procedures and reports clearly.
