Insurance Verification Specialist - Remote

Overview

As an Insurance Verification Specialist, you will play a crucial role in transforming the health of communities by obtaining and verifying insurance information for our members.

In Short

• Obtain and verify complete insurance information.
• Perform prior authorizations as required by payor source.
• Collect clinical information such as lab values and diagnosis codes.
• Determine patient’s financial responsibilities as stated by insurance.
• Document all pertinent communication with patients and insurance companies.
• Handle inbound calls from patients and physician offices.
• Resolve claim rejections for eligibility and coverage issues.
• Coordinate patient resources related to reimbursement.
• Comply with all policies and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 1+ years of medical billing or insurance verification experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field can substitute for experience.
• Experience with payors and prior authorization preferred.
• Missouri Registered Pharmacy Technician is preferred but not required.
