DevOps Engineer - Remote

Overview

The DevOps Engineer will play a crucial role in advancing the CDC Foundation’s mission by providing engineering and technical guidance for the design, planning, development, and delivery of critical applications in a public health organization. Working within Boston Public Health Commission, IT, Data modernization, the DevOps Engineer will drive optimizations and improvements in the security, agility, responsiveness, and efficiency of deployment environments and applications into cloud platform. The candidate will bridge the gap between legacy development/operations teams and the shared culture and vision.

In Short

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure Cloud platform.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system availability.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure follows security and compliance best practices.
• Collaborate with development teams to streamline DevOps processes and optimize deployments.
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
• Maintain documentation of cloud infrastructure and DevOps procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools and methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in working with version control systems such as Git.
• Hands-on experience in working with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions and IaC tools like Bicep.
