Staff Data Engineer - Remote

Overview

As a Staff Data Engineer at Capital Rx Health - Judi Care, you will serve as a technical lead for our data engineering team. You’ll architect and build scalable, reliable data pipelines and systems that power analytics, machine learning, and product features.

In Short

• Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming pipelines using Dagster, Databricks, Apache Spark, and dbt
• Develop and evolve data models and business logic in Snowflake using dbt for transformation, testing, and documentation
• Establish and enforce best practices for data quality, observability, testing, and lineage
• Partner with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to define data interfaces
• Contribute to the architecture of Capital Rx’s modular data platform
• Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers
• Work with DevOps and infrastructure teams to optimize cost and performance
• Responsible for adherence to the Capital Rx Code of Conduct

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field
• Strong experience with dbt for building and maintaining production-grade data transformations
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and data warehousing (especially Snowflake)
• Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks (e.g., Dagster, Airflow)
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, and cloud-based data processing environments
• Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and observability for data pipelines
• Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, or machine learning feature pipelines
• Exposure to healthcare data (claims, provider directories, eligibility feeds)
• Prior experience in a Staff or Principal engineering role with cross-functional influence
